There are few cities in Canada with a greater "Brewery per capita ratio" than Victoria. Victoria is home to about 12 Breweries/Brewpubs. The following are in no particular order but we will share with you the tips you can not miss.
Category 12 Brewing
Not too far out of downtown Victoria you'll find Category 12. We often call this the brewery for beer drinkers who love beer. Must Try - Black IPA + Wild IPA. This is both a fantastic tour as well as a great spot to stop for a flight. Locally owned you can see how much hard work and determination goes into this beer/brand.
Absolutely. This is a must stop. Call ahead and talk to Karen for reservations. One week ahead preferred. Good luck leaving without a few
Open 12-6 Tuesday - Saturday. Address: 2200 Unit C, Keating Cross Rd
There is 6+ Beer's here that they do them selves as well as a couple rotating guest taps from other places across BC. You will never have a hard time finding a beer you like here. Full menu available.
Growler fills available, off sales
Open 11-11 at least every day, 350 Bay St, Victoria, BC V8T 1P7
One of the originals on the island. This Brewery sells 80% of it's beer on the island and is one of the biggest. You can get in and out of their tasting room quickly and probably within 30 minutes. Great for a fast sample flight. Recently bought by Muskoka, so you soon see their beer out east. Stop by Saturdays for a Vancouver Island Brewery tour. Top Victoria Brewery Tour.
Phillips BrewingWith so many different beers on tap, there is something for everyone. This is one of the biggest breweries in the province. We have done a few blogs about Phillips beer. Check them out. Want to try some local pop? Take one home with you. Flights are by donation here.
Open Daily until 6 or 7pm. Growler fills, off sales, tasters and even tours some days.
Yes you bet. 2pm Saturday and Sunday. 4pm Tuesday to Thursday. Call ahead for your Phillips Brewery Tour.
Heard of Lighthouse beer? Want to try it? This small tasting room in Esquimalt is worth it for the beer.
With one of the nicest patio's in the city, this is a summer must stop.
A few pretty good brews here
Overall you'll love your self guided Victoria Craft Brewery Tour. Allow about a hour per venue and no drinking and driving. The drinking and driving laws in Victoria are pretty stiff so we would recommend doing a Victoria Brewery tour with Canadian Craft Tours.
