The Alberta craft beer market has exploded and nearly tripling the amount of breweries between 2016 and 2018. Late 2017 had about 69 on the list and by mid 2018 the number had grown to about 80 craft breweries in the province.
The two largest population centres (Calgary and Edmonton) are home to the two largest brewery regions.
No trip to Calgary would be complete without a bit of Libation Tourism. Check out a couple of breweries from the Barley Belt and then a couple more in the neighbourhood you are visiting. Looking for great BBQ, check out Paddy's or Prairie Dog.
The Barley Belt makes for a great day or touring on foot! Uber in, uber out or jump on Calgary beer tour with Canadian Craft Tours. No need to drive, you'll be drinking a bunch of beers.
Looking for those close to downtown breweries, venture no farther than the beltline. All these breweries have food and full kitchens.
Many great breweries north of both Downtown and the river.
