Beer Review - Category 12's Unsanctioned Saison

The Beer: Category 12's Unsanctioned Saison

Why call it an 'Unsanctioned' Saison? Why not just saison? Well if you want to find out go grab this beauty from Category 12 or your local Vancouver Island craft beer peddler and you'll find out.

On the nose you get the fruity, citrusy notes that you expect from a saison. Orange peel and maybe even a touch of clove. Take that first sip and BAM!! hops all up in your mouth. It's almost like a saison that wishes it were an IPA, but isn't. But this ain't no session beer, no sir. Not with an alcohol per volume of 6.9%, uh uhh. Session this bad boy and you'll end up on the floor.

Category 12 makes some incredible beers for people who are incredibly into craft beer. And in case you're wondering if you can trust these folks who brew such unconventional brews, all I have to say is...don't worry, he's a doctor.
